Tricky-Ricky
Anyone know if a working mileometer comes into it? i know they don't even know if the speedo is working its just assumed, but they do note the mileage.
shima60
I think they take note of it just to make sure that it hasnt been played with so it reads lower than the last mot.. Thats all i can think they would check it for. On the dvla website you can check the milage of the car after every mot. If its not showing less or = to the last mot then your safe i'd say
Scott
I think legally you must have a working mileometer, but I'm positive they don't check it working in an MOT test. If they do I must have got lucky with my old Rover.
Stonkin
My last mot had no dash pieces in what so ever, including the odometer which also has the hazard switch on. I've used him for a while but he said he gets lots of supras in without dash pieces. He's got an rx7 track car so is slightly 'friendly' with modding
garethr
You don't need a working mileometer. It's not checked as part of the MOT.
SUPRALOOPY
As long as the mileage is readable. Its not checked that it works, But its down to the tester really.
absz
Not part of the test, will show "mileage unknown" on mot certificate
