New Oil Cooler -- Need to clean internally?

I have a new MIH performace Oil cooler (Driftworks supplied)http://www.mihperformance.com/; I presume they are good.

 

Before I fit the oil cooler is anything I need to do to clean internally. I want to prevent any containiments entering the Engine or is this neccessary, it is brand new in the box with Dust caps still fitted

if the caps are still on no need to clean, if you still feel the need a bit of petrol is good
