SupraD06
Hiya guys, just after abit of advice. Its been a few weeks since i last used the car, and i thought i better give it a run just to make sure the battery isnt dead and all is well. Anyway the car only just about turned over due to the battery being low, so i thought ill give it a quick spin and free everything up. A mile or so into the drive i noticed the speedo wasnt working so i pulled over and turned the car off, switched it back on and it came back to life Is this normal? Can having a flat battery throw out the speedo? I then drove through some back roads until i had some wide open space to open the car up, i was doing about 50mph in 5th gear, went to drop it down to 4th and no sooner did i press the go faster pedal, but the car seemed to hit a wall of no power??????? I was just about to hit the second turbo and i felt like it just stopped dead for a second. the car is Bpu and has never had a problem since it was done 2+ years ago. So my question is, can the car hit fuel cut if your not going quick enough in to high a gear and then try to drop it and pull away hard? Edit: Just followed the guide, and did an error code check, and i got error code 34, The car was set in 'High' boost mode at the time, could it be that im hitting fuel cut due to over boosting??? Many thanks Edited July 27, 2010 by SupraD06 Added info (see edit history)

Homer
The intermittant speedo will be an electrical connection problem somewhere. What boost did you hit? If you hit fuel cut it is very violent, if it was a soft cut or just lack of power it will not be fuel cut. Error 34 will likely be a boost leak, which may be linked to the drop in power. SupraD06
Thanks for the info Homer, not sure what boost i hit, i didnt get chance to look at the boost guage at the time. Will have abit of time today to go out again and see what i can find. Just after it happened i did check all the IC pipework to see if anything had come off, and the only one that looked like it might not be tight enough, was the one that goes behind the drivers headlight and down to the FMIC, it hasnt come out all together due to having Mikalor clamps and having weld rings on the pipework, but i can get to pull the samco hose away from the pipework a little bit. Maybe its just not sealed enough for high boost?
