£379 at Misco.

Yes, I know. It's an amazing price, and by all the reviews I've seen, it looks like a good buy.

Not late night porn Ed, Tom Cruise and Cameron Diaz on Top Gear. It just couldn't take it!

The front glass didn't crack, but the glass holding the plasma just cracked loudly and the screen went black. Scorching hot to the touch too. Nasty.

Currys are having an opening day up here in Liverpool Aintree, and TV's this thursday go very cheap!

Theres Samung 1080 HD LCD 42"s going for £300 and a Samsung 50" plasma for £400.

And some others according to the managers I work with there, might be worth keeping an eye out by you, they keep opening these huge stores at the min to compete with Best Buy.

Sounds great Spike, but Liverpool is a little too far for me to go, unless a local one does the same thing. I'll have a look out, thanks.

Maybe I should just go and do something more constructive instead, rather than plonking myself down in front of the moving picture box all evening. :)

So I now need a new one. A 42" LCD, preferably.

I have seen a few bargains around, but am very interested in this particular one from Hannspree. Has anyone heard of them?

I don't have a budget, so any recommendations below £500 would be appreciated.

:)

So I think it has gone totally. :(

I've got a Hanspree TV, a '37 and owned it for about 4 years now with no issues whatsoever.

Bought it from intekx.com and they offer another year's warranty including collection/delivery service

£389... admittedly £10 more.

Friend also bought a TV from them a couple of years ago, it had a fault they swapped it out within a week with no fuss. So good customer services from them I'd say.

Just had to return some ram and a HDD to ebuyer too and quite impressed by their returns system bar the 0845 number..

Could it of just fallen over so you can claim of the insurance ;)

I have considered that as an option, but need to make sure my insurance covers it, etc.

I've received and set up the Hannspree at lunchtime, and I am mightily impressed! It's got an amazing picture, but the sound isn't brilliant, so I've got it running through my hi-fi anyway, which sounds excellent. :)
