DodgyRog
I have an oil leak and it seems to be coming out of the O/S Driveshaft to Diff joint. I am looking in CJ's manual and have found an Oil Seal, Dust Cover and Snap ring, which gets sandwiched between the side gear shaft and differential carrier retainer. A few questions Are these the parts I need ? Do I need all three, as they are listed as a non reusable part ? I have done the drop the clutch test and I leave a 11 on the tarmac:innocent:, so my understanding is I have a Torsen diff and I also have ABS. Does anyone know if the parts vary between diffs ? I can't really rely on my local Mr.T to get this right, as they tend to be less than helpful, if I don't know exactly what I need Thanks in advance, any help would be good on this Edited July 24, 2010 by DodgyRog (see edit history)

DodgyRog
Okay I have just scaned in the diff page out of CJ's manuals The bits I have ringed in red are the bits I think I need to order to cure the oil leak. Anyone know either the part numbers or if it might be anything else or any other parts I will need

Chris Wilson
You just need the oil seal. The VIN plate number will be all they need to supply the correct seal, assuming no one has swapped in a different differential case.
DodgyRog
Thanks Chris, I ordered the 3 parts that are ringed on the parts diagram above, wasn't sure so had to order them all just in case, BarneyBrendan's coming up to do it (help me do it:innocent:) tomorrow
