garethr
...could I use the 58 bell housing and shifter to make a Mk3 box fit?...You could use it to fit a W58 from a Mk3 N/A..... The R154 and W58 have different bolt patterns, so you need the bellhousing from a manual 1JZ-GTE to fit the R154 to a 2JZ-GTE.

The shifter will/will not need extending the shifter extension needed can be baught from_______ or taken from a _________ thank you A Mk3 R154 box to fit 2JZ will need -- a 1JZ-GTE manual bell housing (Soarer JZZ30, Supra JZA70, Chaser/Cresta/Mark II JZX90/JZX100/JZX110) -- a 1JZ-GTE flywheel -- a clutch from a 1JZ-GTE or 7M-GTE manual -- the prop is easy, start with the front part of the prop which matches the 'box and the rear part of the shaft which matches the diff, and if you can't join them talk to a propshaft manufacturer like Recoprop -- the shifter will need extending A Soarer R154 box to fit 2JZ -- will already have the correct bellhousing -- will already have the correct clutch (but may not take the torque) -- will need a 1JZ-GTE flywheel -- the prop is easy, start with the front part of the prop which matches the 'box and the rear part of the shaft which matches the diff, and if you can't join them talk to a propshaft manufacturer like Recoprop -- the shifter will not need extending The shifter extension needed can be bought from Toyota (if still available), Driftmotion, or made by someone who can weld alloy and steel. Kirk
Not all soarers are direct fit as there are 2 types as i keep saying.... The early type which looks like this http://img256.imageshack.us/img256/3370/p4180115ap1.jpg Its not a direct fit, the shifter will not be central and will require the hole in the tunnel cut forward. The later model which looks like this is the direct fit http://img266.imageshack.us/img266/9972/r154gg8.jpg That is the one you want if you dont want to bodge the fit.
