Well you won't get a letter from the pop pop yet, though it will b coming through. It is just the hire company letting you know that they recieved a letter & have forwarded on your details to the authority.

I'm surprised you didn't get banned when you got your six points. What were they for?

 

First 2 years of driving you can only gain 6points! Could be a DVLA oversight though! Would not question it, but you might get into trouble if you get pulled and the police pick up on it!

Not sure on the stance when it comes down to retakes!

 

Yes, licence bye bye, only 6 points allowed in the first 2 years of driving.

 

If you get 6 points in your first 2 years of driving, then you gotta re-take your test. I don't see how you didn't if you only been driving a year.

Got 6 points and put back on L plates for "invalid insurance". Re-took my test last May...

My mate has more than 12 points on his licence and hasn't lost it

 

You can have a multiple of points on your license, does he have more than 12 valid points? My license has 6 points on it at the moment but they are from years ago. I just didn't bother to get them removed.

 

They are only valid for 3 years but must remain on your license for 5 iirc.
