herbiemercman Posted July 24, 2010 Share Posted July 24, 2010 (edited) http://www.mkivsupra.net/vbb/attachment.php?attachmentid=114137&stc=1&d=1279985107 hi everyone, i would value your opinions on the effectiveness of the wheel anti-theft devices which are available. this question has been instigated due to my son in law's recent experience in california usa where all four of his wheels were stolen overnight from his sports car, the replacement cost is circa 4,000 dollars. he contacted me from ca and said, when i replace the wheels what's to stop them being stolen again? you can guess what's comming now, i said did you have the locking wheel nuts? yes of course he replied, but the car theives in ca have the full set of keys, they are available on the internet. recently on our uk national news they showed a bentley continental £140.K's worth in london and the wheels had been stolen twice in 6 months, at £20K for four to replace them. are we all playing the oesterich thinking that the locking wheel nut systems available can stop our wheels being stolen? am i right in thinking that only the variety of studs and nuts with the profile keys/sockets are all that there is available ? i have never seen any other devices. your comments will be much appreciated. herbiemercman. http://forums.mercedesclub.org.uk/at...1&d=1279983964 ANTITHEFT WHEELS..doc Edited July 25, 2010 by JustGav (see edit history) Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
