Wyntersun
Just out of curiosity, how far would £3000 get me to get my n/a auto to either a TT auto or TT manual? Thanks.
Attero
If you mean a conversion, a TT auto will be as far as you can go with that budget. Search is your friend.
SupraDan24
You could do a 5 speed TT conversion for around that, certainly not a 6 speed. Going BPU on a 5 speed GB is pushing it a bit though. Best to get a TT Auto box, there a much cheaper alternative than the 6 speed and more relliable under power than the 5 speed.
SamuraiFlash
Keron is a trader on here and he does an NA-TT conversion for about £2,400 Engine and Auto box supplied and fitted. The problem Keron is having is getting in engines. Jurgen has a few coming from Japan, so there is hope.
Wyntersun
So my best bet would be to put an auto TT block in. That price don't sound too bad! I shall have to contact keron.
AlexM
You could have a TT Auto conversion plus a few gauges for £3,000 BUT you may have a considerable wait for an engine. Keron/Silverstone Garage/AFR(I think?) should be able to give you quotes and an idea of their respective waiting lists.
KamaSupra
There's a lot of us waiting for the TT conversion bud
Supranature
There's a lot of us waiting for the TT conversion bud Agreed, myself included since March Use the waiting time to do other things, for example upgrading your stopping power, preferably UK calipers, at least new discs/pads and braided lines with a fluid change. Whilst you're at it, consider new shocks and/or springs, ensure all suspension bushes are in good nick and the car generally is "up to" the conversion. IMO its madness to do a TT conversion without the aforementioned upgrades/checks
Stratty
before I had mine done, I made sure I had better brakes (brembos) and suspension (tein) fitted. My NA-TT cost £2500 from keron from what I can remember.
trinitom
you can reduce the price at half if you can fit it your self.
Wyntersun
Would love to fit my own TT block, but to be honest, would weather leave it to the pro's!! I would have no idea where to begin.
SupraDan24
Why do you want the conversion just out of curiosity? Is it because you want to save money making it a TT or because your attached to your car and simply want more power? Only reason i ask is its actually probably cheaper to sell your NA and add the 2.5 k and buy a TT. You can get really nice Auto's for 5-6k these days. I miss having boost after selling my GT4, I bought an n/a and have got it looking really nice and how I want it, plus it's an aero top! I think a TT areo would be really good. So would you recommend sticking to an auto box for the TT? Not driven an auto turbo before, only manuals. Stonkin
Have to do a search for info on that mate, plenty of stuff been argued, i mean discussed All personal preference. Mine is a single auto and previous was a tt auto. Its a great box and can still be very involving if you use it correctly. But, i would prefer it to be a manual simply because i'm pretty much on the limits of the box.
