Zaino Z8 would be a great one for you Jamie, or anyone for that matter if the paintwork is in very good condition. Its fantastic as a product to use inbetween waxing. Once the vehicle is dry just give a panel a very light spray across, spread it evenly with a clean microfibre, turn it over and buff. Then go onto the next panel. You really dont need to use a lot of it. But keep it topped up with a good wax as well. Although the nxt spray is quite easy to use and can give a reasonable shine, it really doesnt last too long. Although a proper wax will take slightly longer to do, it will protect that finish better. Nice one, just ordered a couple of bottles zaino z8. Stonkin Posted July 22, 2010 Share Posted July 22, 2010 Most people will slap far to much on mate, it doesnt help, infact it will hinder the process and waste product. With waxing, once the pad is primed, just a small wipe onto the applicator will do a panel. Gives great results, very fast and doesnt leave drying marks on the black paint. I buy it in bulk here http://www.i4detailing.co.uk/acatalog/Meguiars_Last_Touch_1.html and water it down to 50:50 in a spray bottle. Makes it very cost affective. The Smart Wax is amazing easy on, easy off and leaves a really deep shine and zero residue. I also use the Aotoglym HD Wax every other month. Have also tried the DODO juice Supernatural in a panel pot and that was even better than the Autoglym HD but twice the price. For Detailing the Smart Detailer takes some beating and can be bought in large Trade packs. On my engine bay polished parts the Zoops metal polish is the best product Ive ever used simply amazing, nothing comes close. I would certainly say no, that silverline is not any good for a novice or occasional user. If you want something like this you would be far better off looking at a meguiars g220 or das 6 dual action machine. A rotary in the wrong or unexperienced hands will no doubt cause devastating effects. A dual action will still require a lot of reading and knowledge before hand before i would even consider taking it to your car, but they are safer. Yes fairy liquid can strip old waxes, but its not really a recommended way of doing so. It has a high salt content and is not friendly at all to paintwork. Saying that if you do so once, you will not hugely damage it, but there are better ways. A strong shampoo/snow foam/APC (All Purpose Cleaner) mix will do the same thing, as will claying.
