With a stock car its actually quite hard to spin the wheels in the dry, in the wet it's a different story. Once you remove the cats and up the boost you notice it all too often ;)

Read carefully what has been said my friend, No motor company would put something on the car that will be a danger to you.

That is my point, this is what everyone keeps saying, 'Stock Tc will Kill you etc etc it's 'dangerous'.

The Tc will only kick in for a reason, and the reason is because the car has lost traction and is unstable and uncontrollable.."which IS DANGEROUS".. not the TC.

The way the stock one works may not be as effective as the RLTC, but in some cases it does help..... remember not everyone may have the skill to correct a skid etc naturally, backing on and off the trottle as required etc, some panic, don't know what to do and in these cases the Tc can help these instances and people.

I am not singing the stock TC praises, I just don't think it's as shite as everyone claims....because in some circumstances it could well save someones life!

And as Jb pointed out AGAIN, if the TC has to kick in when you are driving..... controlablity is in question and it's time to go easy or be brave!

In summary, it's down to how you want to drive your beautifull car.....you may be the next Mario Andretti, but many are not, and these are the lives the TC may save!

So it is not dangerous and shite for everyone.....

Thats my opinion!

The best way to handle wheelspin is to spin the back wheels as much as you like for two or three seconds and then suddenly lift fully off the throttle for a further ten seconds.

If that immediately gets you all thinking "oh my God, that's a sure-fire recipe for disaster, what sort of an idiot would do that?!", guess how the J-spec traction control behaves.

It's not traction control, it's punishment bitchslap. Every other TC system I've experienced actually works - the Supra one is dire and I don't understand how it got out the factory. If you feel you need traction control, then Racelogic seems to be the way to go. I just switch it off, drive steady and progressively, and pay attention to the car when driving. So far, so good.

All these arguments over being able to control skids, and using the TC light as an indicator of road conditions, and the car being 'uncontrollable' as soon as the back wheels spin (tell that to Paul Whiffin!) are academic. The point is that the stock J-spec traction control, when traction is seriously lost, reacts slowly and then suddenly cuts all power for an inordinate amount of time. Behaving in the way I described above. It's worse than useless. There you go. Quit sniping at each other or Santa won't bring you car parts for Christmas :)

All I ever hear on here 'turn the stock TC off' it is shite, it will kill you, blah blah blah......

Toyota designed feeking cars and all the nice things about the Supra, do you really think if it was dangerous to have the factory TC on the car would pass it's final inspection(testing) to be on the road!

Learn to drive properly thats what I say!

It's there for a reason...... use it wisely......

Learning to drive properly would be relying on traction control? I must disagree.

Look, it seems to be a big problem with some people for some reason, so just leave the stock traction control on. It's your choice. Er, and don't speak to Keith Churchill about it either :)

The stock TC is terrible IMO!! Especially since most of us are at BPU + levels our cars tend to pull hard when shifting say from 1st to 2nd and immediately the damn thing comes on and stays on for quite some time till you literally turn it off, I think this really spoils the fun of driving a sports car. I have pulled the trac fuse off and thank GOD Im relieved from this irritating TC feature. I don't see driver's with Ferrari's and other fast cars asking for TC? Are we so bad at driving that we need this?.:)
