pistonbroke
Bought this camera mount to get some better footage (more professional looking). http://www.cameragrip.co.uk/acatalog/hague_sm1_car_camera_suction_mount.html If anyone wants a recorded run of their car using this setup, give me a shout on the day and I'll stick it in. I'll then put the video online at a later date for you to view your amazing/pitiful run Edit - it'll be in HD obviously too.

pistonbroke
That is mighty impressive I can edit fairly well, I need to work on getting my camera shooting skills up to scratch now, which hopefully this mount will aid with.

pistonbroke
Ahh, I'll see how I get on with the setup in the box. Have you tried sticking it to one of the body panels yet?

Not yet, I've not been brave enough. I find once mounted its very secure and theres no budging it, but over time it does loose suction and needs to be pumped up again. If your going to film through glass you need to get the camera lens as close to the glass as possible to avoid reflections.
pistonbroke
Well, that arrived fast. I just went out to test it, and got it promptly stuck onto the windscreen.......it's still there now, I can't get the bastard off!! Whats the trick to getting the pad off. I've tried lifting the lug thing as per instructions and the Hague website video, but bugger me if I can do it.

pistonbroke
I kid you not, the bugger was stuck fast, I had to leave it for a few hours before almost knocking myself out when it eventually came off.
scotty71
Hauges suction mounts are meant to be pretty good. Have not got one myself but had their webpage saved in my fav's for months. Youll get some good footage with that
pistonbroke
Right, I have a new tactic to get it off, the trick is to pull the very edge with the tips of your fingers. It pops off lightly with no effort. Standby for "Getaway in Bromley". Premiering later....only on MKIVsupra.net
