geordie82
fair play but "in his parents garage" either he isnt getting enough business or his mum is still wiping his backside. i agree special cars want special treatment but surely 10-15 hours probably £500ish is more than enough i even splashed out on the supra last week because she deservis it, full vallet £
supramkivcork
I think people are actually missing out on the point. A lot of wealthy folk thrive on one upmanship and like to know they've spent more on something e.g on their car getting it cleaned than anyone else. There is plenty of overpriced variants of other products that also sell beyond reason. If the chap is the best detailer about fair play to him. If he's just some kid who has seen a very lucrative business opportunity then also I'd say fair play to him. I'd never pay it no matter what money I had . In a recession if he's getting that money to clean cars I'd have to wonder who the real fools are.
Lbm
I even splashed out on the supra last week because she deserved it, and then she had a full vallet. .... Agreed A friend of mine used to sell £8000 CD players. This went up to £100,000 for a full home hi-fi set up. And the market? Footballers and similar types. Say no more. Even each power cord cost £100. I went down to a Heathrow Penta hi-fi show a few years ago to see him - and the nerds discussing sound quality was staggering. IMO you probably can't tell the difference between a system worth £1500-2000 than the hi end stuff, at 50 times the cost. So yeah, it's all about bragging rights. They were kind of saying "Oh, but all the gold connections make the awesome sounds awesomer" I'm thinking this is madness. I'm thinking you lot don't even know what your listening to - but this does not matter to them. They're told it's very expensive. They like that. They begin to believe they can belong to the elite who own this stuff. I mean, you have to justify the expensive purchase right? You can tell the difference yeah? Course you can. peter richards
all down to client base , and if they are prepared to pay it , hes obviously found that niche . like for instance i couldnt charge what stonkin does down here id get no work at all , and been doing it a bit longer lol. not a dig christian just a comparison to areas of the country . whats annoying is others knock him , but is that just jealousy , i think it is, hes found these customers , so good on him . dude
if i had the money for a lambo, i wudnt sit on my ass all day. Part of buying a car like a lambo is cleaning the beauty Would be in my case anyway. I must dissagree, I would not have time to clean the Lambo cause I would be driving the Aston;)

They begin to believe they can belong to the elite who own this stuff. Absolutely. Also, I've noticed that people who really appreciate music often have quite modest stereos. A friend of mine is an accomplished jazz musician, who understands music at a stratospherically high level. Music is not casual listening for him, it's a totally immersive experience.Yet he has what I would regard as a crappy system. It's not the first time I've seen this, either. It's as if a highly musical brain doesn't need super clear reproduction to derive pleasure from hearing. On the same lines, guys who invest hundreds in spectacular ICE set-ups in their cars are often clueless about what they are actually listening to,and have very pedestrian tastes. While I'm riffing on this, what about film buffs? Those who know their Bertoluccis from their von Triers aren't the ones with the 60" TVs with HD crikeyvision. They're owned by guys watching the latest comic-book adaptation. How this relates to car cleaning I'm not sure.

peter richards
next door to you heard about all this money your making lol no only joking mate , will be moving soon though , found a property with a bit of land so will extend the garage that is there , i can then start to re advertise myself a bit more , as ive backed off in the last year as was struggling with the weather and nobody had garages lol , just got fed up either cancelling jobs or it raining in the middle . so once this is sorted , i can offer the package again , but still predominantly mobile if they have a place for the detail to take place . or thats the plan anyway
Stonkin
Oh right Having a proper garage makes a huge difference doesnt it. Mobile jobs are never easy. Its handy where i can use now but definetly cant wait to have my own proper garage.
