Lbm
But is he any good? Why pay £1000's when you can nip down to Tesco and for £5? Or use Stonkin Story here: http://uk.cars.yahoo.com/20072010/36/britain-s-most-expensive-car-wash-0.html
michael
Reminds me of those "most expensive iPod" stories where it's just a regular product with lots of diamonds glued on - the same thing but coated in bullshit. A lot of detailers do this for publicity, I doubt many of them actually get a regular repeat business selling this sort of thing though. Give it a while and one of the 25 people who bought Zymol Solaris will be advertising a £25,000 detail or another clown will have put a £20 wax in a £30,000 container and sell it as a £35,000 wax. Fair play to him though
Rob_Mitchell
its aimed at a different market, fair play i think he obviously has started it up from nothing so good luck. £8000 for a tub of polish though.
marcAB10
Surely it's geared towards the owners of supercars. Now I wouldn't think that most supercars are use extensively.. So why would it need to be cleaned to that extent..

Lbm
For 7000 sheets I'd want the man to lick the clay off with his tongue or something. And 250 Hours? Really? 10 hours per day for 25 days in a row. Outstanding. Then again as has been said, if he can command these prices...then why not? Anyway, I've booked in my 1.7 Astra and then we'll take it from there.
Stonkin
i was reading this on the bbc site earlier. Have to say some of the terminology used by the journalists (on both pages) made me laugh. Fair play to him and LBM, regarding the pm's we have shared, i er, need to adjust the quote

Saw the zylomol stuff a while ago, really stupid the lengths some people go to. Been told more people owning brand new supercars are getting them covered in protective film/wrap rather than details/polishing. Cheaper to get a £3k wrap job on your fezza/lambo and then 3 years down peel it off and sell it with a mint paint job rather than have to fork out for an official lambo respray. AndrewOW
A tough durable vinyl wrap would easily be a preferred alternative to those prices IMO. A chavvy guy here in Eastbourne has got his Bentley Continental GT with a vinyl wrap, and although the pearl and gold combination is hideously sickly, it's a very good job. Matt H
I've read the article in the Metro yesterday. he basically charges £28 per hour if you base it on £7k for 250 hours labour. I'm glad he gets paid a decent wack for it, because if I spent 250 hours polishing some metal (albeit very lovely metal I'm sure), I'd go insane. I think what you're paying for here, is for someone to actually have the inclination to spend that much time doing something so mundane. Don't get me wrong, I'm sure detailed a lovely car can be quite fun and rewarding, but 250 hours of it! That's like being told you'll be able to make love to Una out of the Saturdays, only to then find out that you've got to plough away at her in the same position for 250 hours on the trot..... Supralad
why would you pay 5 grand for some kid to clean your car. If you owned a lambo, you would surley want to clean it yourself!

AndrewOW
If I had enough money for a Lambo, I would employ a car cleaning chappie to wash the car whenever I wanted! I'd obviously drive myself, as my chauffeur would only weigh it down.

Problem is that some owners of these cars are of older generation that probably struggle to bend down to clean the wheels........
