caseys
I was just wondering if anyone on here's owned a Gallardo? I've been looking around and you can get a 2004 Gallardo now for approx £55k linky which doesn't seem too bad... So thought just as an exercise I'd go out and get a couple of insurance quotes... Admiral £1305 Elephant £1311 Quite surprising really, I'd have expected the £5k+ mark. That's @ 29, 5 years NCB, social only and parked in a garage, fully comp + £500 excess, 4k miles/year. Then again I bet servicing and parts would make it quite pricy to run... Other dream car on the list - Ferrari F430 but they're still £75k approx. Admiral £1447. A man can dream eh? I wonder what prices would be when I hit 30 next year

Bobbeh
For a day, yes Dont forget serving costs, I think the clutches are like £5k to replace, dont fancy that bill
Brazil
I work with one fella his got a 2010 DB9 and the other has a 09 911 Turbo. Sucks though I don't want to wait to be in my 40's to own one..! I want one now while I am single...! lol
HadeS
nahhh... You are not old enough to have one...
caseys
Don't do it!!! You'll fit right in to Nos's stereotypical group... Really trying to understand here What's wrong with owning a black non-modded gallardo or such? Or we talking about the Fezza here and I'd have to be a c*** at the lights and say "More than you can afford pal!" For a day, yes Dont forget serving costs, I think the clutches are like £5k to replace, dont fancy that bill Feh, paid for a head rebuild on my car... but yes, clutches, suspension arms and the possiblity of it catching fire I admit are risks. It'd be a weekend car and as said, 4k miles a year. Then again I don't know service intervals for things like clutches Research would be required. I work with one fella his got a 2010 DB9 and the other has a 09 911 Turbo. Sucks though I don't want to wait to be in my 40's to own one..! I want one now while I am single...! lol I'm 29 and have a baby admittedly! But contracting rates in London if I got somewhere long term this could be a reality Mentioned it to the missus and she didn't laugh at me. She's very good like that nahhh... You are not old enough to have one... DB9 are a bit 'old man' maybe, but F430s and Lambos seen as old man cars? Really?
HadeS
DB9 are a bit 'old man' maybe, but F430s and Lambos seen as old man cars? Really? Is your thread really coincident?
Havard
I have never owned one but have driven a couple. Both Ferrari and Lambo look great and sound wonderful..!! One thing that struck me was that they weren't particularly well put together and that I would have been disappointed if I had shelled out 50K plus. The only cars I thought were really well put together were the Aston V8 Vantage (£40K ish) or an R8 (60K ish) I have been looking at V8 Vantages for a few months but realistically can't get one unless I get a house with a garage. Although, if I move house I won't be able to afford the car anyway..... H.
Bobbeh
The Gallardo was nicely put together, I didn't feel it was poorly built, but that was Audi's influence... which was also the slightly disappointing thing about it, I'd seem some bits in other Audis that were in the Lambo, like the computer, buttons and switches etc.

caseys
Is your thread really coincident? Erm... yes? I have never owned one but have driven a couple. Both Ferrari and Lambo look great and sound wonderful..!! One thing that struck me was that they weren't particularly well put together and that I would have been disappointed if I had shelled out 50K plus. It's like owning an Alfa... you don't own it for the bullet proof reliability and build quality. The Gallardo was nicely put together, I didn't feel it was poorly built, but that was Audi's influence... which was also the slightly disappointing thing about it, I'd seem some bits in other Audis that were in the Lambo, like the computer, buttons and switches etc. Guess that's going to happen a little bit when accountants get involved with car companies, anything to save cost eh? caseys
My friend just got an Audi R8 for her 25th. Jealousy isn't the word....:-( Spoilt Then again I don't know what she's been through... Was round a friend's one Christmas who lives in a fancy area round here, we were outside having a drink on his front garden and we see a Bentley Arnage drive down the road with a big pink bow tied around it, we assumed it was someone's Christmas pressie Oh to have rich parents or significant others eh? Septic
Tell me about it. The thing is you would never have guessed that she was loaded. Just one day one Facebook her birthday pictures come up with her blindfolded and surprised to see an R8 with her personalized plate on it. Complete mind f@#$. I guess there is some solace in the fact that I'm scavenging for a big single supra at the moment. Hopefully it can take the R8 out. Btw, what bhp would a Supra need to be churning to rip apart an R8? Lots of Arab kids aged 18 etc near Edgeware road driving exotics around. Funny enough, there is a single Supra always about to put the spoilt brats in place.

I love you guys :'( It's true though. I'm working 7 days a week and striving so hard to get my hands on a respectable Supra and legal job. i can't even imagine the sense of satisfaction when i finally drive one. There will be man tears and possibly some jizz.
Brazil
Oi what's wrong with being in your 40s?!?! Because by then I will probably be married and will not be able to use a fancy ride as a weener extension. There for not taking full advantage of the situation. lol
