Inception

Just returned from the flicks, film of choice tonight was Inception.

Well we usually leave cinemas feeling very underwelmed, but on this occasion i was pleasantly impressed.

For a film hailed the new matrix i expected it to flop as something vaguely similar had been done well previously, but this film stands solidly on its own feet extremely well, its essential viewing imo.

We went to see it last night, and was pleasantly surprised, had similar expectations, but it didn't disappoint, lots of intertwined layers to keep the interest.

We actually go to the cinema very very rarely, and it seems to me that the seats get more uncomfortable, the volume is far too loud, the picture leaves a lot to be desired, the adverts are even longer, and the floor is so sticky with spilt drinks you stick to it!

We are now even more advocates of watching in the home on a large screen TV in bluray with surround sound, maybe we are just getting old:tongue:

@ Ric

The plots a twister so it is not all about special effects, my girlfriend was quiet for once while watching it, as she was thinking through it to keep up.

yeah i was more referring to a technical plot, rather than just nice sfx :)

I watched it last night too. I saw the trailer and thought that it does look very good, but I'm not keen on Dicaprio and I'm certainly not going to like it if it follows a matrix style concept (don't get me wrong - I love the matrix - it's just not unique anymore), but it didn't!

I don't get confused by many films unlike many people. I seem to understand the most complex of films first time round and Inception was so close to confusing me.

And as confused as you may be by my post, I loved the film. I thought it was genuinely brilliant and the whole concept of it was just amazing and unique in it's own way. I was very surprised by this.

My girlfriend on the other hand is not a thinker and fell asleep half way through. Unfortunately on my arm giving me a dead arm the whole night as I didn't want to move.

I recommend this film to everyone who is able to keep up with a complex plot and not start asking questions from the start!

Convincing: And just to top things off IMDB has a rating currently set of 9.3/10 as the 83rd best film made.

Do people actually get confused by film plots? in most cases i can usually predict the next scene and the outcome, i thought it was because film plots where pretty weak and predictable these days?

I've known people to get confused by all sorts of films old and new. Asking questions all the time after.

What a great movie! Who would have thought that Leonardo's character was a ghost. What a wicked twist.

no I haven't seen the movie yet but I just thought I would annoy some people Hehe. Yes, I am a c*ck

I'm watching this tonight, thanks a lot.

Seriously, that was a pretty gay thing to do.

I went to watch this at the cinema last night and really enjoyed it! Well worth a watch! Quite a complex storyline but very well directed so it was easily understandable. Quite a long film but i didn't get bored in the slightest :)

Also, it's now at No.3 on IMDB's top 250 film list!

Haha that was excellent I fell for it and the first thing said out loud was "Oh, you c*ck!"

But when Purity quoted you I then saw your hidden message! Yes you are a legend! :D

Planning to maybe watch this at the weekend.

just got back from watching this and feel mentally drained! absolutely brilliant film and very rarely does a film have my complete attention from start to finish but this one managed it. The closing scene of the spinning top is pure genius

I've not seen any bad reviews.

IMDB says its the 3rd best film ever made (calculations from users reviews and votes).

http://www.imdb.com/title/tt1375666/

Collider gave it an A.

http://www.collider.com/2010/07/16/inception-review-christopher-nolan-leonardo-dicaprio/

Telegraph came up with a different review:

http://www.telegraph.co.uk/culture/film/filmreviews/7892057/Inception-review.html

But I think it will vary between many people. You will either get people who fell asleep (probably because they were unable to cope with all the stuff thats going on) or people who absolutely loved the film. There doesn't seem to be anything in between as far I'm aware.
