jonathanc
I wonder if there's a program that can find duplicate pictures. I don't mean just finding pictures with same filename but the same picture itself. I have a huge folder that contains tons of pics with standard names like 100-4903 and it will take ages to sift through all of them manually...some of them even have the same time and dates but not the same picture (taken by different camera that has the same naming convention) It would be awesome if there's a program smart enough to do that for you. Any good recommendations? edit: I don't mind a command line utility as well since I noticed they perform much better on the network compared to GUI based solutions. Purity14
You could base it on exact file sizes..?

JustGav
Generate a complete list with CRC-32 checksums, then sort the list according to CRC and you should have identical duplicates togther

jonathanc
You could base it on exact file sizes..? Aye, what I am doing is use the Windows Explorer and sort them according to dates then sizes. But that is getting tedious going through the gazillion folders (the whole family likes to take a whole lotta photos and videos ) and sometimes all matches but photo is still not identical. I am thinking if there's anything that can automate the process. If the program is unsure then it will compile a list for me to sort later on. I just got to know Robocopy and wrote a script for it last night and I must say I am very pleased! Just wondering if there's a similiar tool for photos.
