KamaSupra
The orangy/red glow display reminds me of my first car's dash, Peugeot 309 Trio-S.... Ahhhh those were the days, what a cool car
KamaSupra
Is there a thread on how to do this? i really really want to do this to help pass time or is it to simple to do there's no need for a thread lol Not sure about a thread on how to do this but should be pretty simple. If not heckler on here does different coloured speedo clusters and facias as far as I know
kazama76
i just didnt want to take the whole dash apart, just to stand there with my mouth gaping wide open not havin a clue where to start lol
KamaSupra
Couple of threads on changing dash light colour- http://www.mkivsupra.net/vbb/search.php?searchid=8200368 If not changing bulbs you can just put some see through coloured film behind dials and facia of controls I think. Stonkin
Heckler has put some great guides together http://www.internetwork.org.uk/supra.htm
kazama76
erm erm, i just got all my dash off, taken the green condoms off, yet im still faced with some green lights after taking even more various parts apart, im now faced with green LED's i just wanted white lights now igot green and white so i guess i gotta do the whole led conversion then. Stonkin
Yep, some parts have the green condoms on, some dont. An led conversion is required to do it properly. Heckler is your man or follow his guides if feeling brave

Stonkin
Ahhh...so the cabin temp dial is meant to be illuminated?!! I have wondered that since i bought mine...lol If its not it is most likely a dry solder joint i would imagine.
Aweegin
If its not it is most likely a dry solder joint i would imagine. Yeah? Stonkin
That or the bulb could have just gone. Try swapping it with another working bulb

Stonkin
Are the connectors on the back of the cluster in correctly? Have you checked the fuses in the engine bay and drivers footwell?

marbleapple
Cheers marbleapple. Did you like the red? I liked red yes. It wasn't bright like white and had a more menacing look. Heckler did mine. He solders LEDs on so they are much brighter than bulbs (I believe). It was simply a matter of swapping the dial clusters with the ones he provided, it is plug and play. I removed the green filters off of the bulbs and replaced them with red ones. Can buy them from ebay. http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=230471232844#ht_873wt_1139 Also get enough small ones to do the bulbs on the climate control too. Did you ever change the LED clock? what about the warning lights? Heckler did them all for me. Did you find a way round this? Gambit
On a similar note I'm happy with the default green, but I'd like to change the colour of my boost and ext gauges to better match.... Any idea on how they come apart and where I could get a filter screen? http://img267.imageshack.us/img267/9906/p9050001dx3.jpg
kazama76
Did some one say heckler sold complete units with the led's already soldered in?
Aweegin
..back in the day, i used to just take out the side light bulb n paint them green (stain glass paint i think), more coats = darker colour. Don't see why this cant work on your dials?
kazama76
Because they are green LED's, not sure if painting them will make much difference, will it?
marbleapple
Did some one say heckler sold complete units with the led's already soldered in? Yes he does the whole thing... you just plug and play.
Aweegin
Because they are green LED's, not sure if painting them will make much difference, will it? Ah..no then. I saw some folks said they get white when the take the factory 'rubber' off..
Guest Snaps
^It's not white, it's more amber/orange. It also looks uneven and dull, like the green.
