dude
any one had this prob ma drivers side seat belt is dripping wet ive had the rear quarter window remover and re sealed and its still getting in some where its starting to get on ma tits haven to leave the seat belt fully out at night incase it rains lol any advice would be welcome cheers Whoever refitted the glass did not use enough sealant or the wrong type, the thickness of the bead you put on is quite surprising, the first ones I did whistled like f**k I had to take them out and re do them, you need to cut the applicator nozzle quite far down and at an angle so you leave a very thick bead on the glass, you may be able to squirt some in with a silicone gun and get them to re-seal that way, use Sikaflex or Tiger seal. Nic
Is the car an aerotop? if so water could be getting past the roof seal. I'd also check that the water isn't getting past the drivers side window, make sure the window is going all the way up, if it is leaking new seals from Toyota should fix the problem. dude
The raer 1/4 glass is NOT designed to removed and refitted, it comes with a sort of caulking attached to it, this is adhesive and covered in greaseproof paper, it is then brushed with something to 'activate' the glue (the car flange is also glued), this is very thick hard rubber which you will have cut thru getting the glass out so now not only do you need to restick the glass but us ethe adhesive to make up for the thickness in this mounting pad that has been lost, basically go OTT on the sealant, it will always squidge out internally and be hidden by the trim which almosts hides the glass area visible. If you get stuck give me a ring but be warned if you sound like Rab C Nessbit I won't understand a word you say:innocent:
