neo2810
While painting my calipers this evening, I noticed the rubber boot on one of my rear shocks is shredded and sitting in a neat little bunch below the nice shiney (hydraulic?) rod, which is exposed. Is this safe to leave as it is, or is the boot really important for protecting the rod from dirt and such?
Swampy442
It does shield the fesculised portion but its just a dirt and dust guard, not critical or an MOT failure. You can replace them if you so wish
