The a449 will be the problematic road as this is where the new entrance is for tthe ryder cup, coming along the m4 from j24 to j28 they have fitted average speed cameras, with a 50 limit. These do work as alot have been caught lately and with the ryder cup on they will be rubbing their hands waiting for the fines to build up.

They're a bit rough, but you can get db meter apps on android and iphone. Mind you, even the proper meters are so very variable - I measure anything from 94 to 99.9 in mine, depending on the day.

The track marshalls must have access to one as well, so just ask nicely :)

Weather looks to have changed! Forcast is rain now! :(

That's fine - less grip means the harsh surface at Llandow won't tear up your tyres so much.

Not having much experience of track days, is there anything I should be bringing along?

Other than a helmet and a full tank of fuel I dont know what else i need or what will be available on site.

Does anyone have any ideas?:search:

Only ever bank on there being what you bring. I always bring some oil. brake fluid and coolant to top up with if necessary. Some basic tools can be a godsend. A six pack of coke is always good because you'll dehydrate quickly with the excitement. And a camera. And a coat. And an umbrella to keep your gear dry if it rains.

From the bridge there is no easy way to avoid the ryder cup traffic. The way I tend to go is as follows.

Follow the m4 to j35, take the A473 exit to Bridgend/Pen-y-bont/Pencoed.

At the roundabout, take the 3rd exit onto A473 heading to Pen-coed.

At the roundabout, take the 3rd exit onto Felindre Rd.

Turn left at A48.

Take the 1st right onto B4268.

Continue onto Llantwit Major Rd/B4270.

You will then see the entrance to the industrial estae that its on.

Without wanting to sound like a pessimist you should always have a contingency plan if the car croaks for whatever reason, unless you are towing on a trailer or in a truck. There is nothing worse than being in the back of beyond on a Saturday with a blown engine and no contact numbers for a recovery service you know will be working and available. So if you aren't in a recovery service with one of the big boys you may want to have a few phone numbers with you that you have researched.

Was hoping to come again this year, but a friend is poorly and we felt it unwise to be so far away neither of us could attend should something take a turn for the worse. Hope you all have a great, fun and safe day.
