MaveriK
I am on my third fuel pump now and this one is starting to exhibit the same issues as the others. Basically i installed it a few months ago and it worked fine. But now every now and then it will refuse to start and the only way to get it working is to whack the top of it a few times. This is exactly what the other unit was doing, both Walbro's. I have tried to do the test to get the fuel pump to work on its own but was unable to get it to work. Any idea's as at the moment i have no confidence. Thanks in advance
Mcgoo
Where are you banging to get it to work? On the actual pump or the cover under the spare wheel? If the later, I would suspect a loose wire or dodgy connection. Probably worth checking all the wiring.
MaveriK
On the pump itself, hitting the cover makes no difference. Have checked all the connectors to ensure they are seated correctly. Perhaps one of the connectors is braking down, is there a replacement kit?
Guest sidewayssupra
This is wierd, no one seems to answer this problem, I picked up a supposedly good second hand DENSO fuel pump on Monday, fitted it yesterday, today after checking over everything was secure, tried to start car, no go, cranked over brilliantly, but would not fire, got my mate an auto electrician to go over the whole fuel pump circuit, nothing at all wrong, removed the pump tonight, put power to pump, dead as a doe doe, getting another pump tomoz, just did not fancy splicing in an aftermarket jobby. The chap who sold me the pump specialises in Supra's and in 12 years has never had to put a fuel pump on, is he lucky or what.

Not unheard of for pumps to go west but this is my third pump and two inside a few months.
