Durandal
Been having some idling problems for awhile on and off. No high RPM cold starts (starts at around 600 RPM) and sometimes idle surging from 1k to 2k back and forth. I've cleaned the IACV several times with no luck. Checked the temp sensors and can't find any vacuum leaks. My O2 sensor reads between 0.5 and 0.7 after warmed up at idle. So I decided to take apart the stepper motor of the IACV to check the condition of the bearings and the screw shaft. The small bottom bearing was kind of stiff so I got it lubricated with some spray film and put it all back together. Does anyone know if it's suppose to be in a particular position when you put the magnet and shaft back in? All the way extended or retracted. From what I can tell there is no way for the ECU to know the position of it aside from tracking how far it's turned from a relative position. I put the magnet assembly back in so that the shaft was half way through the stroke before I tightened down the 3 screws. I put the magnet assembly back in so that the shaft was half way through the stroke before I tightened down the 3 screws. Just turn the ignition on and then off again as the ECU parks it at Key off. The next key on will invoke the stating position for your current water temp. From what I recall it has 128 positions at one 1/4 rotations each.
