This is still my favorite forum for MkIV Supra enthusiasts.

Actually, out of the six forums I'm a member of, this is my favorite.

Actually, actually, out of all the forums I visit often that don't contain pink / brown / yellow wobbly bits, this is my favorite.

I still log on as soon as I get home...and get withdrawal symptoms if I'm somewhere I cant access the site. My post count has fallen a wee bit over the last year or so, but only due to my other interests taking a slight fillip recently and me spending more time reading / posting elsewhere. I miss some of the old guard who seem to have fallen off the face of the forum, and yes there are a few spuds around at present but hey, its still one heck of a fun place to hang out.

Yeah, a better indication would be a graph of numbers over comparative times of day - remember that the Seppos have a big country with different timezones, which will affect when people finish work and log on at home ;)

I'm not sure how things work here or there, as I don't really post much either place, but I'd like to hope that post-count is only accrued through contributing to technical parts of the forum - so off-topic banter isn't a way to appear like a usefully contributing member of the forum. Either that and/or a rating system.

I love this place and it has it's ups and downs.

If it wasn't for the forum, I would probably have a different car now. I am looking for a TT but struggling to find something special.

The recent influx of chavs and people who can't spell was worrying but we seem to have got rid of most of them....;)

Even if they broke their most ever users online record they'd still not shame the percentage based on the UK/US population ratio

The forum itself is still great........there have been quite a few old timers and high profile members/big power cars leaving though.

I do think the economic situation even if not directly effecting you plays a part in your travel decisions and has reduced the meet turn outs and can mean car stuff comes second to more important day to day matters.

I also think we could be starting to see an era of continued decline in supra numbers/membership (especially long timers) and its desirability in general........youngsters priced out on insurance, everyone getting hammered for fuel, more becoming weekend cars only and then owners questioning the point or keeping them to only do X miles a year or as its a weekend car feel they should get something more raw/sporty than GT. The supra even with it's legendary reliability is getting on...........those things that never seem to wear out will eventually eg the current thing is crank pulleys, lots failing when 3-4 years back it was a high mileage 93/4 only and infrequent. What might be next.......those fuel and brake pipes above the rear subframe?.....steering pumps & racks?......cambelt tensioner wheels?.........even rust issues?

As the years go by for any car enthusiast it takes more and more passion and commitment to stay with a marque especially with all those other previously expensive or not even made at the time! sports cars being depreciated down into your affordable price range.

The supra's in my blood and I would still own one (probably a few!) if i won the lottery but for many it's a stepping stone/passing through thing. I don't mean this in a elitist way ie you not a proper owner member simply that's how everyone starts off thinking with only a few forming a (unhealthy :D) bond and not really being bothered by other cars available to them.

Perhaps the Mkiv will retain more popularity than other old cars given the lack of a more powerful successor (even considering all manufacturers), but even if this is the case the forum/forum traffic will certainly shrink looking ahead.........

i'm a cheery one tonight eh! :D

Ah, yes.. good point. Sounds a lot like how we (Australia) should never beat the Yanks in sport given the relative populations ;)

And agree with the sentiments, Scooter.

Axle are you talking activity levels or more of a feeling?

Abit of both perhaps?

I think as some have pointed out, the good weather has a role to play.

The forum will no doubt be busier then ever in the next couple of months as we approach Christmas.

Whats with the homepage?

What do you mean?

Why is long term members leaving a bad thing, they have to go sometime

not really a bad thing it's just that for me the forum has lots of characters and the ones most know have often been here the longest so when they go the forum can seem 'just not quite the same' for a short while........tis all :)

Deffo a good site here, Only problem i find is i never know when people are joking or not but i suppose thats all part of the banter and fun.

All fun and games i say.

Lets face it we all have to laugh at somethink when we all have big holes in our wallets all the time.

This is one of the best forums im on, there is great banter, great cars, great build threads, pretty much all you need really. The fact that some parts of Britain are getting some serious hot weather and other parts its like a tropical rain fall.

Nice weather = less folk on the forum

Bad weather = loads of Scottish folk on. :D

Wait till winter arrives this place will be Heaving. :D

In my opinion, if long term contributors leave then we hope their productivity would be replaced by new members - new ideas or solutions to technical issues, new projects etc. My issue is always that many new members post before reading to see if the question has already been answered, or don't seem to contribute in what the forum considers a meaningful way.

Of course, I'm a picky bastard.

I have noticed that it has been a bit quieter recently but i have put that down to the good weather (that you lot are getting down there!) I still think this is a great forum, i have enjoyed my time on here a lot more than other car clubs i have been a member of.

There is a fair few characters on here which with their witty comments always raise a smile, and technical gurus with valuable vaults of knowledge.Any subject or problem there is always help at hand and that to me makes a great club spirit.

Recently we have had a fair few trumpets on here being a pain with their nonsense and they have been quickly shown the exit to the moderators credit.

Just the one thing that worries me is how sometimes people post things and they are quickly shot down in flames when it wasn't really deserved, i think that might frighten folk to come on and post when we should encourage folk to join in.

Just my 2p worth, keep up the good work folks.

Great club spirit, superb cars and mainly really nice members. Have made a lot of good mates thro here.

All the t**ts that joined couple of months ago made it pretty cr@p for a while but theyve all been banned now!! :)

I'm sure most people are counting the days until I clear off:d

Seriously, it's a great forum, many different characters over the years and yes it does have more of a chav aspect at times but they do little or no harm.

The amount of info and help is, and always has been, superb. I'm sure I would have sold mine years ago had it not been for this site, it's helped turn my Supra into a hobby rather than just another car :)
