Sharpie
Ban started at 6am today, with only 2 days notice given. "This ban will help us to safeguard essential water supplies to our customers if the drought continues." The water company loses 460million litres a day in leaks. The average four-person household uses 600 litres of water a day. http://www.unitedutilities.com/6539.htm
Matt H
As sh!t as it is, it would be even worse it you couldn't get a simple drink of water, cook your food or have a shower. I really don't understand it though. You go abroad to a country that is hot hot hot, and all the hotel staff are there with their hose pipes watering the grass and cacti. I've never been away and come across a water shortage, yet in our country that has seen so much snow and rain at the beginning of the year, often gets a summer usage limit. Somethings wrong somewhere.
tooley
adopt the french policy of huge water catchment tanks. 30 years ago our resovoirs were up to the task but whats clear now is our current storage are not enough.....its not that we dont have enough water its the fact we no longer store enough of it. right or wrong the hose pipe ban has to go in because nobody can say its not a problem just go and look at your local resovoir and see just how little water there is

gjp
Just use a pressure washer as they don't come under a hose pipe ban.
Matt H
Just use a pressure washer as they don't come under a hose pipe ban. Do you not need a hose pipe attached to them though?
Havard
I'm not happy. I am getting bummed for £64 a month on my water rates and I can't even use the b*stard. Most of my water usage is used on the garden and washing 3 cars every week...... I have thought about going on a meter but was worried that I may end up worse off as time goes by. Rainwater harvesting is the future..... Contact your local Flowtech representative...ie ME..!! H.

AndrewOW
The perfect solution would be to buy a large water butt, install a ball cock automatic filler, fill it up from the outside tap, and then use a syphon action hose fitting, which technically means you aren't using a hose from the tap, only from a tap filled 'cistern'. I can't see how that could cause a problem! Do you know, I might Patent it.
Havard
I wonder how many buckets I will use this weekend going over every panel of the car and the rinsing off etc. I may have to fill them with the hosepipe...... H.
