potvolkoffie69
Hi , The engine of my 95 na Supra is almost finished and i have found another one ... A engine of 97 with 30k miles on it! Now my question was if it would fit directly into my Suup, so i dont have to do anything but install the engine... I dont think a 97 engine is a vvti ? Can you guys give me your opinion ? Greetings Potvol
Nic
Is the replacement engine a 2JZ-GE (NA) or 2JZ-GTE (TT)? The '97 2JZ-GE is non-VVTi and should be a straight swap, the '97 2JZ-GTE is VVTi and won't be a straight swap.
James
Depends, some of the GTE engines in the '97 cars were at the "crossover" period an avoided the VVTi engine. Hrmm.

ray007
Sorry to hijack this thread but I have a vvti twinturbo engine for my non-vvti n/a, would there be any complications for that conversion or is it the same as doing a normal na-tt!
potvolkoffie69
No prob ray I only need the answer if the head gasket is from steel
