Chaps,

What BHP do you think I have, im the lucky chap (well it's still making all the right noises) that bought Grahams car.

It's running at 1.2 bar, hopefully soon 1.3 with the non cat down pipe fitted!!!!

Hybrid Turbos (larger compressor and steel internals)

Blitz Access ECU

HKS EVC4 Boost Controller

HKS 'R' Spec FMIC (Good for 860bhp)

HKS Cams 256 In, 264 Ex

ERL Water Injection

HKS Super Powerflow Induction Kit (Mushroom)

TDI Uprated fuel pump able to deliver 25%-65% more fuel than UK Spec

CentreForce Heavy duty clutch

Racelogic Adjustable traction control + launch

Super Drager 'Priest' exhaust (Fully SS)

B&M Short Shift Kit, stock shifter and leather gear knob available

HKS Rear cat replacement pipe

Chris Wilson Front Cat replacement pipe (not fitted)

I believe this car has an HKS FRONT PIPE replacement - coulddn't see it listed there - if it has this has a 3" straight thru pipe.

If you then fit a CW Decat pipe you will experience 1.4+ bar which you don't have the fueling for.

You will have to fit a restrictor ring (which you can source from CW). to keep the boost down to 1.2.

The next thing you must look into upgrading is the fueling. Graham's got the car into a superb state of tune...now to top it off and extract its potential!!!

I would get a set of 550+ injectors and something like a Greddy E-manage to control the fueling (nic on this forum has had good results with this fairly unknown piece of kit)

For more info on upgrading the fuelling do a search!! :)

Still congrats on the purchase - I'm jealous!

Please, please, please get a restrictor ring before you put that pipe on! It WILL overboost and not by a small amount, we're talking upwards of 1.9 bar here, I kid you not.

As for the BHP, I never bothered getting it dynoed, I figure you can only probably end up dissappointed doing that. Surely its quick enough!?

Could I take it to 1.3 bar with the present setup?

It's fast but after being in ryan's beast I must have as much sensible power as possible!!!!! lol

NO

Infact I would not recommend more than 1bar till you do the fueling.

Look at it this way Toyota saw the need to replace the j-spec fueling to run 326bhp on the UK/Euro/US spec supra's...asd you're trying to run 400+ on the j-spec...it doesn't take a genius to work out that it just isn't going to work.

But if you feel the need to test it at 1.3 bar, a new engine will cost 5k+ - if you're lucky you can find a decent used one...a fuel system is much much less than that!

What's to say the fueling hasn't been done already. The car has an uprated fuel pump and I would guess that the fuel pressure has been raised. If I am correct the work on the car was done at TDI who certainly have a rolling road and I don't doubt a wideband as well. Why are you saying it can't run at 1.2bar, we don't have a definitive spec on the fuel system or the spec of the hybrids...nothing.

What I don't understand is why people choose to ask this sort of question on a BBS instead of asking the tuner (or manufacturer) who set the thing up in the first place.

Fuelling has been checked at 1.2 bar and is absolutely fine, probably running a tad rich if anything. I suspect that the Blitz ECU likes to chuck fuel in.

What this means in terms of the longevity of the injectors I don't know as they are obviously running at a higher duty cycle than 'normal'.

However Gavin is probably correct, probaby best ask TDI any questions you might have, or get it along to a tuner of your choice to give it the once over for 100% peace of mind.

Go on sahn! Slap some great big flaming 1000cc injectors on there and get the mother of all turbos fitted! Thats all she's waiting for now! :)

Thought that what it was all about m8 - duffers like me asking daft questions from knowledgeable chappies like you instead of asking expensive, unhelpful and disapproving people like Toyota direct!

(who wouldn't know anyway!)

It is and for most of the questions here that is a fair comment.

But when good money has been paid to tuning companies or parts suppliers for goods or services, (especially custom stuff such as hybrid/single turbos or fuel systems) surely that must be your first port of call with any questions. By all means double check it on here if you feel the need.

I would not change my car without checking with Leon. He knows the car, he set the car up and knows what works and what doesn't. If I turn up the boost or fit a part because a couple of people say it's okay without knowing the full picture and the blows the engine up what do you think my chances of getting a warranty claim through are looking like.

Is that up and running, then? It all went quiet on that front after the ECU 'issue' - is everything ticketty-boo now? What's 1,000bhp like, then...?!
