Anyone know this VVTi? Should I buy it?

I can't say for sure, didn't pay too much attention as it's irrelevant to us here.

But with higher numbers sold there and the general $1=£1 exchange rate of such products I wouldn't be surprised to find MKIV prices starting at way below $10K

Nah, theres more demand over there for them than here. Import tuning is massive in the US. Supras are very popular especially as there's not much decent competition with the likes of the Skyline to play with, and they have a limited number of US spec cars, unlike the UK which gets flooded with grey imports.

Well what can I say?

I'm pleased to have sparked an interesting debate. (Nice work with the all w*nker related comments on both sides - had me in stitches!)

For me VVTi offers some more torque. I'll never be tuning it a great deal..well not for a couple of years.

As I understand it VVTi tuning has come on leaps and bounds in the last two years, but there's still some experimentation to be done.

I've never been a big fan of bhp figures myself, the proof is always in the pudding. How the car actually feels, weighs, handling etc is how I judge a car.

Cheers all and see you at JAE with a different car this year :D

No - it's having a few minor dents sucked out, valet, service etc and I should collect next week sometime.

In no hurry as I've got four cars here at the moment anyway!

The pics at the top of the thread were ones I took last night..
