mathew
Tell me and be honest - what is it you like about being on here? when i first joined i was caught up in all the 'potential supra' ownership hype/excitment and then purchased one and was on here regularly as all i wanted to talk about and read about was supras. i was new so didnt want to cause or be part of any arguments so kept a lowish profile and was overly polite and thankfull for pretty much everything despite wanting to air my views numerous times but didnt as i had seen how others who did got shot down. That original enthusiasm lasted id say for the first 2 years then slowly started to wear off. During that time i would frequent other forums and also notice the difference in regards to personalities of the users, interests, forms of humour etc etc and realised (this is my own opinion btw) that this site seems to revolve around supras (obviously) and not upsetting the regs. If a newbie posted something with the smallest bit of text speak members would be down on them like a tonne of bricks, if newbies even think of answering back a reg then again they would be driven out or to the point where they end up getting banned for retaliating. Ive never insulted anyone on here, unless in retaliation, but have had numerous insults thrown at me just for having an opinion on a particular subject. That has been one of the most annoying things. This then caused me to use this site less and less and only really came on here to have debates about subjects that interested me albeit my views were always greeted with disgust and uproar. I no longer own a supra so dont use this site for that side of things anymore but still like having a read of various other threads, it kills time. However that pompousness is still there regarding a handfull of regs. Proof of this was clear when a member came to view my car (i will not mention who) and went on to say pretty much my excact views on the club so im obvioulsy not the only one to think this way. On a plus side though, for some of you, my membership runs out on the 26th and i wont be renewing it so you can all bask in the fact that il be gone soon. Ive tried to be as honest as i can in this post and havent posted it in the hope of annoying people or getting a response, its just my opinion which i have formed from my time on here. TonytotheB
I agree with the BMW driver (pains me to say it). I have been here over a year with only 2 months of actual real posting and I see how this site works already. I'm not saying it's a bad thing but most threads end in insults. It's cyber world after all and too many people flame in cyber world different to how they may talk to someone in a bar on a Friday night. Reviewing the newbie section is an eye opener. So many times I have seen flame on flame. Who cares though, right? It'll continue the way it does. Good forum sometimes. Glad I paid my money as it's worthwhile. Long live turbos. AJI
Having read this little thread I do have to agree with Mathew here. He was basically putting up his point of view which was probably not the view of the majority, only to be shot down for having a different view. Septic
Lol oh dear. If you think this forum is bad you should sign up to my350z.com. They will eat and spit out newbies in milliseconds. Those American lot are proper keyboard warriors. Tbh Matthew, you really ask for it considering the way you go about posting in the manner that you do. I'm not criticizing you, its just that you're basically inserting a razor blade up your ar$3 and then complaining when your bum starts to bleed. On topic, I understand that bloke's need to park the Supra like that but I wouldn't personally do it for fear of giving Barry boys an excuse to treat my car as a canvas for their Gnvq art skills. I'm tempted to post pics of all the scratches and dings on my car and soon, you'll all be able be jogging two parking spaces. I have NEVER scratched someone's car so I don't understand how others do it to me. I think its just blatant disregard and disrespect for someone's property. Gosh that does seem like an honest and open comment. I've lurked on your threads before mathew and in the main have disagreed, have said so too on the odd occasion, but fair play. Hats off to you fella

I know, isn't it awesome!! All n00bs should be called fags and we should have prefect powers over them getting them to make us tea and hang up our coats and whatnot. Having read this little thread I do have to agree with Mathew here. He was basically putting up his point of view which was probably not the view of the majority, only to be shot down for having a different view. If someone has a view that isn't the view of the majority, they will always find themselves on the receiving end of the majority of the abuse from the conversation - surely that's logical and just follows simple mathematics doesn't it? If the minority opinion covers only about 1% of the participants (as in the case of parking in disabled bays) and/or is based on a subject that is likely to cause offence to certain groups of people (as in the case of parking in disabled bays), then the backlash from the majority towards that minority should be expected to be greatly increased and enlarged - surely that's also logical? Yes he was basically putting up his point of view. Lots of people basically disagreed with him in a strong manner.

I've not been long on this site but I couldn't agree with you more, some mods on here really spoil it, They remind me of the type that got bullied at school for being fags, and now just can't handle the power and authority they have been given. It is a shame as most of them are ok its just a few (esp the ones that think they are funny also)
