Rich Lewis
Hi, Im now desperate Ive had a rattle coming from underneath my MkIV for the past 4 months on and off. I had it repaired for £50 by a trusted mechanic but I bottomed out over a speedhump and its returned with avengance! Unfortunately the above mechanic is now away for a few months, so my car looks amazing but sounds worse than Del boy's three wheeler [/sAD] The other week I took it in to Kwik Fit and the guy listened to it out on the forecourt, then drove it on to the lift, didnt bother to start the engine with it up on the ramp. Instead he started calling part suppliers for a whole new exhaust (What did I expect from KwikFit[OOPS][/OOPS]). I was then told that it would cost me £800 to fix [sAD] /vbb/images/smilies/bbcode_sad.gif I need to get this looked at by somebody who knows what they are doing, does anyone know of a dedicated Supra mechanic or Jap import mechanic?? Any advise or support is appreciated. Rich.
Dnk
Does you car have a stock exhaust, if you bottomed out it sounds like you've possibly broken a support bracket on the exhaust, to be honest you don't need a specialist just a decent garage. Nic
Exhaust heat shield or inside of the cat/silencer rattling would be my guess.

Guest Budz86
Was the heat shield on mine. 10 mins with a pair of tin snips trimming it all off and never a problem since!

Rich Lewis
Just to update this topic, I ended up putting a few screws thru the exhaust housing and the rattling stopped, a bit radical but got it sorted
