supra mkiv
I have started to assemble my engine, but I've been a little unlucky. one of the connecting rods have been trapped by the crankshaft, and has made a mark on the crankshaft. it is about 3-5 mm long and can feel it with the nail. can i be so unlucky that it will injury the Rod Bearing or is that without significance. do not know how sensitive such a crank/rod bearing is Edited June 29, 2010 by supra mkiv (see edit history)
dr_jekyll
i wouldnt use a scored crank personally. you could buy a whole na engine cheap just for the crank .

Chris Wilson
If it's minor get the journal polished, a good crank man will tell you if it needs grinding. Given the value of N/A engines I'd not regrind, just buy another crank / NA engine for the crank.
supra mkiv
I've got the crank polished, so the damage was not so big ;-)
