Need some software writen - where do I start?

Nothing complicated, I need a bespoke application that can run on windows.

In a nutshell its to allocate 121 meetings that are arranged at the conferences we organise, its like a meeting schedular which allows our sponsors to select the delegates they want to have meetings with at set intervals.

Anyone do this sort of thing who can point me in the right direction or would be happy to take on the project for a fee?

thanks for your input guys. So to give you an idea on the schedular this is how it works:

Approx 10 meeting hosts (sponsors)

Approx 60 delegates (attendees)

x10 Fifteen minute meeting slots

Meeting hosts go through attendee list (of 60) and tick which delegates they want to have a meeting with (they can tick up to 25 delegates - we will guarantee 10 meetings from these 25 requests) - software then needs to allocate a meeting slot HOST+ATTENDEE+TIME SLOT (one of 10 slots)

^ where this might get complicated is if two hosts pick same attendee and same time slot - the software then needs to be clever enough to allocate a different timeslot for one of the hosts

As for PHP - i'm not sure if our web server is running PHP or not can you tell by looking at the website? http://www.healthcarestrategyforum.com http://www.ahmediauk.com

Ideally will need an invoice for this work but can come to a cash arrangement if required.

Yes, you are running PHP. :)

So a simple thing like this: Or are the delegates seperate between time slots?

http://img13.imageshack.us/img13/8836/delegates.jpg

Yes the delegates are seperate between each timeslot - so its in a 1to1 format, ie one host + one delegate = meeting slot.

eg

Host 1 chooses Jim, Karen, Jenny and Warren

Host 2 chooses Jim, Karen,Callum and Paul

The software would have to allocate a different time slot for Host1+Jim to Host2+Jim (as both hosts want to meet Jim) same with Host 1+Karen and Host2+Karen.

^ There could be up to 20 hosts and 60-70 delegates.

Each host can send up to 25 meeting requests and we have to fulfill at least 10 of them.

Each host would be given 10 meeting time slots

The software would need to see which timeslots are free and which host requests can fit into them timeslots once we have all the requests in from all the hosts

Hosts can select the delegates they want to meet but not the timeslots(these can be allocated and selected in any order the software churns them out at).

I can probably get this organised for you within quite a short period of time, what I will need you to do though is write what you have put in this thread about structure and how the system will work into a word document or something similair, I can then send it off to my design and development guys and have a cost for you by the latest tomorrow evening? Possibbly tonight. PM me if you need to know any more.

Best Wishes

Daniel
