A dog that is.

Suki arrived on Friday evening, lots of confusion ensued with calling for Loki and them both running over, so she's now called Freya! She wasn't responding brilliantly to her old name anyway so we're not sure what it had been used for in the past, she's doing well with Freya already though.

She's on the Huskies in Need website, but here are a few pics of her as she's beginning to settle in and get used to the big fluffy monkey boy:

She's very clever, we're pretty sure she's a Husky X Collie because of this and her pray drive (pointing too), we've taught her 'down' and 'wait' already, we need to work on direction commands like 'in' and 'out' and 'off' as she still thinks she's in charge of where she stands at the moment!!

Vets today for vaccinations, bit of a grumble but pretty well behaved generally (just nervous still), neutering due in September.

She's a lovely well behaved little girl, we get growling and the odd snap due to anxiety which we'll work on, nothing too bad. She's brilliant with people, little girl in the vets was stroking her and she wasn't stressed by it at all. She's met quite a few of our friends and family already and is always happy. She doesn't seem to like other dogs though, she lunged at a hound when we were out walking and me and Zoe missed the other dog completely, she got a telling off and a check of course but we think she needs a forever home with no other pets really. She's a bit of an attention seeker as well, does the cat thing of sticking her head under your arm, so we've been ignoring some of that and praising for sitting nicely instead. It might be due to anxiety and fear still as well so we'll see if it improves.

Overall we love the little thing, give her time and some strong consistent training and she'll be perfect. Will be sad to see her go and we've only had her 2 days!! :D

Theres definately some collie in her isnt there? How long do you keep her, until a home is found?

Basically yes, can be a couple of weeks or a couple of years!! Generally it's a pretty short time though, there's been an enquiry on her already, however we think my mother in law is going to take her as she's been looking for a dog for ages and she's fallen in love with Freya already. We'll have her for a couple of weeks at least until her vaccinations are all done and she's been chipped and wormed etc., plus we'll know more about her temperament by then.
