Blitz ecu ????

Hey guys, ive just checked my ecu on my bpu tt and here's what I found on the sticker

just wondered what the specs of this ecu are????

I doubt you will be able to find any detailed answers, the Blitz ECU is a very old product and was probably fitted early in the car's life.

 

I'd guess it'll be similar to the likes of the Mines and TOMS ECU's and have modified fuel and timing mapping, it'll probably also remove the standard fuel cut and may also remove the speed cut.

Blitz ECU, expect boost cut and speed cut elimination, timing advances too, similar to TOMS units. Nothing like Mines ECUs which are mapped to customer specs

It would be nice to know what boost it was mapped too?? Also revs over 7k, not that I go over it very often! Also would it be worth getting it checked on a dyno???

I would doubt it's had a remap, the in-house ecu's normally just have boost cut and speed limit removed, as mentioned the Toms one also makes some small timing changes.

 

It will have been on the car a very long time so I'm sure you can consider it safe, but no harm in getting it dyno'd. Do you have an AFR gauge installed?

No afr gauge and I have no more spaces, unless I remove my exhaust temp which doesn't have the sensor in the exhaust yet so maybe remove that and swap for a afr gauge???! Do defi do a black faced afr gauge???

I don't think DEFI do an AFR gauge, most use AEM or Innovative. They are not pretty looking, but do the job

 

They will nearly always be a 52mm gauge so fit perfectly in the place of the clock.

Ummmhh what/ where would the sensor go/ be for afr???

You'll need a wideband O2 sensor (which will come in the afr gauge kit), they are normally mounted in a flange near the front of the 2nd decat. If you don't have a flange in the pipe one will need to be welded in.
