swich
I have the OEM caliper stickers and wondering if i should paint them matt black or gloss? Any thoughts?
Missile
I did mine matt black. Never seen anyone else with matt calipers, im guessing you mean painting the calipers and not painting the stickers Where did you get your stickers, i'd like to get some? swich
The standard is matt so thats why i was thinking matt, but just not sure. The company that i got them off is uber nine, checked their site and they don't have anymore. I maybe able to get some for you from another design place, but let me know as they'll need one of mine to copy.
benkei
If they're matt black, wont they just look dirty???
swich
Well normal brand new calipers are matt, do new ones look dirty do you think ?
benkei
I thought they'd be gloss? I don't have a Supra yet, so I can't check
Scott
They do when the are dirty I would go with gloss personally
swich
Good gloss product is easier to get hold of.
Scott
If you are painting them yourself go with hammerite Metal smooth brush on. The spray is pretty crap, the tin of paint is excellent. Stick on 3-4 coats and it comes up silky smooth

Scott
Oh, just in case I haven't explained the hammerite properly. You will be left with a gloss finish. I don't think there is a matt finish available from the metal hammerite paints.
swich
I'm worried about losing the shape of the caliper with so many coats, don't want it to look like one blob.
Scott
Lol, hammerite doesn't spread thick. It's just a hard wearing paint afterall. I think Jay (Jevansio) used the smooth paint and his came up lovely.

There is, I used it to paint my calipers but I wouldn't recommend it. It came in an aerosol. When painting I didn't want to be too loud but I went too far in the other direction. I'll probably be repainting them gloss black over the weekend. So there ya go OP, gloss is the answer.
