JustGav
The oil will more than likely be cam cover gaskets, Not a difficult job changing them to be honest.
djg99
also ive just noticed that when you line the timing belt up instead ofbeing on 0 its on 5 take it thats not normal???? The cam cover gaskets are fine not cracked or broken at all!!!
TLicense
They should be around 170 PSI when the engine is hot. Sounds like your timing belt has jumped a tooth if it's at 5 degrees. It should be at 0 when no.1 piston is at TDC.
djg99
could that be causing a knocking noise, where the pistions are hitting the valves. also the belt has a little give, is that how it could it jump a tooth?? Think im guna have to phone the garage in the morning!! only thought id look meself as garage is realy busy! J_Supra_07
As for the oil it is the gasket between the head and cam covers. Comon problem. Not hard it fix. If not check all pipes. Only other reson would be cracked block but I dout that. Edited June 24, 2010 by J_Supra_07 (see edit history)
Swampy442
The rattling noise is nothing to do with the cambelt, and if it had jumped you would notice it as the performance would be poor.
