Smallshinyant
Anyone here a member, was just curious if anyone feels they have got a worthwhile experience out of doing the training with them?
Matt H
I started the training when I was 18, purely to get my insurance down. After a chat in the institues caravan, then a drive around with the intructor, I decided it wasn't for me...

Gaz6002
My Dad went to join once, and came back with the conclusion that they suggest you drive like a complete twat. He quit and did some proper driver training instead.

Smallshinyant
me too, hence the question. I would of thought we had at least one member on here, even if its just for the insurance benefit.

creative
my dad did upto the point of being a trainer himself. I learnt alot from watching him and when I started to drive my instructor could tell I had picked up some points from him! In my opinion they dont tell you to drive like a tw*t but to use the road effectively and be aware of what is happening around and in front of you. Smallshinyant
Short of anyone not doing this, would anybody recommend a course? I just don't think my driving is very smooth.

He started off by getting some instruction on track. my dad did upto the point of being a trainer himself. I learnt alot from watching him and when I started to drive my instructor could tell I had picked up some points from him! In my opinion they dont tell you to drive like a tw*t but to use the road effectively and be aware of what is happening around and in front of you. I think it could just have been his instructor, but he came away less than impressed with what they were saying.

ellis
I did the training in 2000 and took the test - passed. It was very good experience - 10 'lessons' with an ex-police driver and a nreve wracking test - I was far more nervous doing that one then my original test when I was 17!. Opened my eyes a little as to my observation skills and other aspects of my driving. I'd highly recommend it - can't do any harm can it? Paul
Load of rubbish, the main people you see with the badge or sticker on their cars are old buggers with little or no appreciation of traffic around them. Most are clearly a danger on the roads yet they are members
Hobgoblin
I did it several years ago, my boss agreed to pay for everyone who drove company vans. I thought it very worthwhile, some good pointers on observation and anticipation.
