First i took my pvt plate off the supra phone 2gether and told them also told them they can just keep it on record as i was selling the car very soon and wouldnt need a new cert, So i see a car i like a UK tt phone for a new quote to be told its only £20 more, great i said when i decided to definatly buy the car the next day i phone them again to be told its £30 not £20 as advised no i said you quoted £20 so we agree on £25, Then when the new insurance cert turns up its got the old reg number and details, so i call them and say dont you check these things to which the usuall reply "it wasnt me ive no idea what your talking about ill get him to call you". So i wait for over an hour ring them back to say im not happy with the fact that they didnt check details etc prior to sending out the new cert and im rapidly losing faith in them, to which it get " ok well see how much you will get back to cancel" and then hang up on me!!!!! So i leave it half an hour and call back and ask to speak to the manager "sorry hes busy ill get him to call back when he has time" the person on the other end says "when will that be will it be today ??" i ask , " dunno it might be was the reply ", So now i dont know if theve cancelled my policy or not if theve got the details correct this time or not and my new toy is sitting on the drive without tax and i cant bloody drive it!!! supra_aero Posted June 22, 2010 Share Posted June 22, 2010 Put it in writing - don't waste your time complaining by phone to muppets. Send all letters recorded delivery. Set deadlines for them to get back to you in every letter, say 3-5 business days. If they are not met, continue to send recorded delivery letters. But inform the ombudsman and cc the ombudsman on each and every letter you send. Become cheeky by the third letter asking for compensation for justifiable reasons - e.g. wasting your time and stress. Small reasonable amounts though. Don't ask for silly amounts. Detail each reason in every letter. Increase this compensation required with every letter, again justify your reasons. Log all responses if any. Guarantee within 2 months you'll have your money back in full with a nice compensation cheque. I have done this many many times. Never lost a case yet.
