Stonkin
On the way home tonight i noticed a whirring noise when i applied the brakes. The noise slowed down dependant on vehicle speed. You could only hear it when coming to a standstill from about 15 or 20 mph. I took the front wheels off tonight to check it over and found when you turn the disk on the passenger side it makes a similar noise. The cv joints all looked ok. Drivers side Passenger side Is it the drive shaft that has gone? Cheers

Stonkin
Think you might be right Peter So the only things i can narrow it down to is... CV joints? Wheel bearing? could a bearing sound like that? I did the test by holding the wheel at opposite sides and woggling it to see if any play and didnt notice any. Drive shaft? Stonkin
Pad wear indicator?? The Audible type ( little metal bar on the inside pad ) might be hitting the disc tell you to change the pads? Pads were changed 2 months ago mate, i checked them and there still very new. Someone coming over monday with a few possible parts. Can only really think of cv joint or drive shaft
Swampy442
Wouldnt be the drive shaft, its only a metal bar.
Stonkin
Ok mate, cheers. Might have to check the cv joints again. The noise was worse at the engine end of the cv joint as opposed to the brake disc end
Swampy442
They do just wear out so unless its a gearbox fault Id say its likely to be the CV
Stonkin
If it was a gearbox fault, wouldnt the noise be on both sides?
