Oz DIY Wideband

Hey guys chill and be helpfull instead of ...........! From the reading I have done I recommend the FJO wideband as it is supposedly one of the best WB out there!:)

Why Would I Need a Wideband Air/Fuel Ratio Monitor?

The wideband O2 (oxygen) monitoring system is the most useful tool available today for tuning the Air/Fuel Ratio (AFR) on internal combustion engines._ Maintaining the correct AFR is essential in order to get the most performance, economy, and reliability out of an engine._ The higher the specific output (horsepower per liter) of an engine, the more important it is to maintain the correct AFR for a given operating condition._

FJO Enterprises is pleased to introduce a Wide Band Oxygen Sensor Controller for accurately determining the air/fuel ratio in automotive gasoline engines. In order to avoid damage from too lean or rich a mixture when modifying automotive engines, it is very important to know the air/fuel ratio at which the engine is operating. The WBO2 controller provides accurate mixture readings from 10:1 to 20:1 when coupled with a 5-wire oxygen sensor.

Guys, Guys...!

C'mon now - no need to get all fired up - weekends nearly here and all that!

On a similar note -

Phate would you please state your real name and details for the record -

I do not trust anyone with Cyberspace in their avitar - too much like a dick mycroft special!

I am sure that you understand and appreciate the point - asked nicely, non-threatenly, in a spirit of brotherly love

many thanks

Just a note to say I've made up two PCBs (using surface mount components) based on the DIY-EFI / Oz WBO2 module and am awaiting the UEGO (Wide band) oxygen sensor.

This is a 80% copy of the design on the WBO2 site which I have interfaced it into my range of microprocessor peripherals I'm working on. I take no credit for that, only the interfacing to my product range.

Not sure if this will be the final design or if I'll choose another WBO2 method.

It'll work as a stand alone unit to connect up to whatever you like or the intended interface units will come in a range from simple LED rows, to LCD character display, to Graphical LCD display to Palm PDA or Laptop computer interface. Hey, you'll even be able to choose an audio speech output module to shout "Fuel Ratio LEAN!" at you. Or "Open the pod bay door HAL"

The PDA and Laptop inteface will be purely wireless and have IrDa or Bluetooth connectivity (even cable RS232 for those of us not technically advanced enough :) )

This is my new "DCX infinity" (Dynamic Control eXtensions with infinite possibilities) range.

Work is still in the prototyping stages of some modules but I have enough irons in the fire to keep everyone happy. Work is going well.

For example.... control your boost controller, fuel computer, AFR display, turbo timer, etc etc all from a wireless link to a PDA or Laptop. Tune your car on the rolling road whilst you have your head in the engine or standing by the side of the rollers. No wires! Even use the device on track days or 1.4 mile sprints to log race data. (i.e. get your mate watching by the track side to have his laptop recording your every move, just like the race teams)

Download data from your PDA to your mates PDA to compare stats! (It'll work on all the range of Palm PDA's (from Zire to Tungsten) and soon Pocket PC's as well as Windows Laptops)

How about GPS modules as well to warn of speed cameras!

g-meters....??

More news in the new year. But the range will blow your socks off.

The beauty is you can build it up bit by bit as you can afford it, choose different options for visual or audiable information, man machine interface (PDA, Laptop, button!)

They all plug into the same interconnection bus system and thus once you've wired up to say the Speed signal if any other unit wants speed then they ask for it. So just one wire connected, not hundereds of spliced wires into the loom.

They'll also be OBDI and OBDII scanners to read off fault codes and show engine diagnostics as well.

I know it's all been done before by someone but never before have you been able to interconnect a system of devices from the same manufacturer, with the same look and feel, plug and play with devices, add to the system as money allows, upgrade and have a say in what features you want the system to have.

If you think of it we've already thought of it and are planning to make it.

2003 is going to be an eye opener!

Oh.... and a Happy Christmas :) :D ;) :p

I am not expecting you to trust me. I think the real reason you want to know who I am is because Mycroft on the TIF board has been winding you up as to who I am.

I will give you a clue I have already posted on here over 645 posts, and was a member long before yourself.

If you insist I will give you full details.

Christ, if it's Ash, get rid of the twat now. That was a typical response of a keyboard commando, so I'm suspicious...

I personally can't see anything wrong with someone asking what a wideband O2 sensor does. In a technical thread about wideband O2 sensors. If we were all standing around in a car park chatting, you wouldn't tell Brad to piss off and look it up in a technical manual, would you? It's on-topic, it's a quick, easily-asked question and it's not the easiest thing to search for. Can't see the problem - if you don't want to answer, then don't!

Lets face it, folks, while you have been slinging insults and trying to be big and clever, Randy has answered the question with a decent bit of info. And you/we/me used to give him a hard time about this sort of behaviour. Live and learn.

Well I did ask nicely - and I'm very interested to know -but to no avail it seems

So phate will you come clean or not?

BTW - How do you know about the dick-head Mycroft?

Oh and by the way Iain (mycrotch) - when you read this (and he will because the sad git just hates not being on this forum) we just love it without you!

Cheers

Paul

So Phate - why do you continue to hide behind a false name?

What is it that you are afraid of m8? We are all nice guys who enjoy our cars and generally get along very well!

Come out of the closet - it wont hurt! Honest! (no homosexual innuendo intended!)

:p
