SupraDan24
AVG is very good. Google it and you'll find the free download easily. The free version is still pretty good, it just lacks as many areas of protection as the paid version.
movistar
cheers will do then...i guess you get what you pay for in this instance?
Branners
I used to use Symantec Corportate, but after my recent rebuild I am trying out Microsoft Security Essentials. It's free from the Microsoft web site and seems to do its job...

Smallshinyant
oh yes. and then set it on fire. and then and only then you may of got rid of it. Just kidding, but yes uninstall and do the reboot before installing any other AV
Branners
I use free software too. It's called Linux. Linux is great, but is it really for mainstream users? If something goes wrong with Windows I can fix it or generally recover the data. If something went wrong with Linux I would stand zero chance of getting it back, and I'm pretty good with IT. Thats why I can never recommend Linux or Mac to computer users as it will go wrong one day and somebody has to fix it.

I've never had anything go wrong (and that includes the time I couldn't find any sign of the OS after I didn't follow some instructions correctly. I don't always know best:d) that hasn't been fixed by Googling the problem and absorbing the huge amounts of info that Linux users give out. I would say that Ubuntu 10.4 LTS is the closest any Linux distro has come to rivalling OS X or Windows and the next release looks even better. At this moment in time, I have absolutely no need for Windows. Hell, even my dad can use Ubuntu.

The-Plethora
I use free software too. It's called Linux. I tried it but didn't have the requisite neck beard and cardigan Heh no I will admit its come a long way in the last few years, I used some of the Ubuntu releases which worked well and if all I did was to check emails and surf the web things would be fine. Its when it comes to installing drivers and setting up multiple monitors that the fun begins I found. Maybe I will try within a virtual machine.
