Nitrous Purge Valve

Nitrous don't work without a purge dude;) you just get extra fuel and no NOS:search:, You can use and nitrous solenoid and make a braided line using -3 or 4 hose.

 

I want the valve that clears the lines of left over nos in the pipes, ive read it gives a better response, better temp etc. It also looks cool when you pull upto the line and shoot the gas out :D Is this what you were on about? :)

I was on about the F&F style venting to atmosphere puge kit dude.

 

Unfortunatly the only way to get clean nitrous to the solenoid is to vent the gas from the line, when it goes to the vapour its purged, its THEN a waste of NOS

All purge kits vent to atmosphere, purge kit is worth fitting if you want to use the nitrous out of a dig.

 

I never had a venting to atmosphere kit on my previous (wizard of nos) kit, if you want to get a kit just to blast good nitrous out into the night sky that's a waste in my opinion.

If it makes you feel better you can always point the purge at the FMIC ti cool it, but a NOS kit will NOT work properley unless it is purged FACT, you will not run quicker over a 1/4 because you lose as much as you gain while its running too rich due to excess fuel, same as it needs 'mapping' as much as an ecu does.

I did not purge, just had to let the car bog down until the gas was ready @ the solenoid. It only takes a split second for the gas to reach its destination, purge kit is in my opinion for a serious dragster that need the nos @ the solenoid before launch.

Why would you fit something that cost maybe £800 and not let it work to its full advantage, like putting a garrett turbo on an XS Power manifold, yes it will work but not as well as it should. remember 1/10 lost or gained costs or gains 3/10 at the finish line so your little stumble could well cost over .5 second.

Should you be using a nitrous system with braided supply hose then it’s a whole different matter, as a purge kit becomes an essential part of a nitrous system if you wish to achieve optimum performance. A purge solenoid can also be used to empty the supply line when the system is not to be used, to ensure no nitrous leaks past the solenoid seal in to the engine.

No I think you are someone who builds a car to the best of your ability and funds who also does not like losing an argument.....which you have, fact, for a nitrous kit to work to the best of its abilty you need a purge kit;)
