SupraHuman
Don't think it will, as companies offers fmic's powder coated.

tooquicktostop
Does black not absorb heat, the opposite effect you are looking for, also will the paint not restrict the cooling process.. I am keen to know
JamieP
At the sort of boost you are running it will be fine imo, will make next to no difference, many oem parts come in black, stock rad is black iirc, my oil cooler is black.
dude
Black will disperss(???) heat better than silver.
a98pmalcolm
i may be wrong but spraying it a colour... wouldnt that mean the paint will fill some of the fins? Therefore less air and travell through the intercooler making the boost not cool down as much??

Dude the paint is so thin it will make no difference the gain from going black far outweighs the loss a couple of microns of paint will lose. Therefore less air and travell through the intercooler making the boost not cool down as much?? If you was to paint it on with a brush yes it will fill the fins. But with a spray gun, it will cover the FMIC very thinly as it is sprayed thinly and mainly with air so it will be perfectly fine
