Lude
is this common? just lookin on how much room i have/dont have where my wheels are. i can hear a faint squeeking sometimes, its not the sound of the tire cutting into the arch, so amusing its the plastic. is it ok to just remove these? evinX
The big one behind the wheel? or the small ones with 2 screws at the rear and 3 at the front on the exterior arches? both are fine to remove, cant see them making a squeeking noise though. Lude
the squeeking is the rubbing noise. perhaps squeeking was the wrong word lol anyway, yea the arch liner, think il be removing them this weekend to eliminate the noise
Dave
if you take them out you will get all sorts of crap up in the wings
Lude
hmm ok. many people ditch them? dont want to make it easy for the car to rust or anything like that..
evinX
Im ditching my inner lower fronts as they are chopped to bits, will more than likely cause damage to my car than protect anything:) itll be fine.
Gaz6002
I made sure I put all my wheel arch liners back in. They're essential if you use your car a lot.

Gaz6002
really? can you elaborate why ? perhaps il just cut the part where appear to be rubbing then.... I'd do that. You'll be shocked how much crap gets into places you don't want it if you remove them completely. First instance, my washer jets stopped working because the passenger side wheel arch houses the pump. jevansio
I would find out where the noise is coming from rather than just ripping out the plastic, get it on full lock & check where the wheel is
Lude
yea ive just done that before creating this thread, i was planning on trimming the inner lip, and thaught may aswel remove the arch liner to allow extra room thats all....
nevins
easy way to find the area of contact is, put some tip-ex on the tyre and put the wheel on full lock. If its making contact you will see where to.
