Neil-NA
I have a 95 2.0 petrol RAV4 thats done 88k miles, i noticed this morning that when starting it puffs out a little blue smoke for a second or so. Is this the valve stem seals? if so are they expensive to replace and is there any way of trying to prevent it getting any worse. Thanks. R Black
My girlfriend drives A RAV, it has smoked on start up for a couple of years now, yes I would say it is the valve stem seals, however its not a particularly cheap job hence we've not had it done, the vehicle is on a R plate and its not worth much so I don't see the point, it still runs fine. Neil-NA
Yeah this runs fine and was only rof a second, was wondering if an oil change might help a bit, will see if it develops any further.
absz
sounds like stem seals, being a old motor you can try a 10/40 semi oil instead of the recommended 5/30 and see how you get on.
