jackso11
My 1st decat has a boss with a sensor coming out of it that I think pligged into the standard temp sensor wires that were on the original cat. Can I just remove this and screw in an EGT probe sensor? or can I use the sensor that is already there and just wire it to an EGT guage? Dave, you might be able to answer this as you did my decat
absz
its too far away from the turbo to give you a true reading. the closer to the turbo the better or in the exhaust manifold pre-turbo
jackso11
Dude says not to put it pre-turbo and just to put it in the downpipe or decat. Is this not an agreed placement?

absz
I thought it was ok to put it in the decat & then add 200 degrees for the true reading? pre-turbo is normally the best option BUT if the sensor gets damaged then it more than likely damages the turbine blades. fitting the sensor in the downpipe and adding 200 degrees is just guess work ( in my opinion ) i had mine fitted to the turbo exhaust housing outlet side.
