I have been pulled because I was avoiding potholes/grids/dirty bits of road in my Supra and therefore looked as if I was drunk. I referred to the officers as 'officers' and they were very nice. I was tested, despite not even sounding drunk and it came back at 0.0. Not bad for a Friday night

Has anyone else has this happen?

haha yeh i got pulled for 'not over taking'!!! i came up behind a very slow moving car in my village at about midnight, and the road was approaching a small but blind bridge, so i sat behind the car until after the bridge (only about 100 yards). after the bridge i over took and they flashed their blues! they asked why i didnt overtake sooner and if id been drinking bla bla bla! totally pointless.

But i totally agree with the limit being brought down, and to tell the truth i already thought 1 pint was the limit, but i dont drink at all if i know im driving anyway, i confess im a lightweight!

I'd go for a lower limit than the 50mg, but something which takes into account the things that people have mentioned previously like mouthwash, chocolates, puddings etc.

As Michael has said alcohol effects people differently, so even at 50mg/100ml you'd still see some with absolutely fine driving abilities and some people completely ruined. I knew a bloke who had some weird allergic reaction to alcohol and you could give him a 25ml glass of baileys (17% abv = 4.25ml alcohol = god knows in mg as I can't be bothered right now to calculate the miscibility of alcohol in that ABV but guessing approx 8mg)

8mg alcohol + average blood volume of a standard person = 10 pints = 5700ml would have given him a ratio of 0.14mg/100ml if he got 100% absorb rate. Yet he'd be happily sat there slurring his words.

Was amusing though to spike his drinks with a quarter shot of vodka when he didn't have to go anywhere. He did find it amusing too so no cruelty there :)

I rarely drink anyway (Im more of a smoker) so I agree with this although if your likely to get pi55ed from one pint then you shouldnt be drinking at all & be ashamed lol.

I've been pulled over for everything else but drink driving so far.

Even giving head while driving?

Problem is... without a blood test, that's not going to happen.
