After seeing resident Evil 3d last night, am really tempted for a 3d tv for the upcoming 3d ps3 3.50 firmware update and gt5 in 3d

3d's not for me in it's current form, I preferred Avatar in normal HD over the geeky glasses wearing 3d version.

The technology is there anyway for 3d to be done without glasses, you'd be mad to fork out for one of the current 3d sets.

That does look rather special.

However, is it just me or does there seem to be next to no detail on a dry track compared to a wet one? Also, the cockpit view looks far more impressive than the rearward view?

What do you expect to see on the dry track? Cracks in the pavement? :)

yeah, the cockpit view does look sweet, looks like they've spent a lot of time mimicking the interiors nicely.

I would expect it to look like a road rather than a flat gray render.

It's literally night and day, if you don't see it then fair enough. Maybe I have HD eyesight ;)

LOL I wish people would stop comparing this with Forza, which imho is and always has been a cheap imitation of the GT series. This one game has been in development for years for a reason and no doubt you'll see why in November :)

BTW, the race tracks are going to be smooth, and Japanese streets (for the street racing) are also spotless :D (that gets me out of that one ;) )

GT5 does look fairly good.

Scott, i think you picked the worst video of Forza 3 ever, it looks toss there.

Did you miss what I wrote? I picked it deliberately to show the detail of a dry track in Forza.

FWIW I wasn't comparing it to Forza, it was just the first one to come to hand. Most of the modern racing games have half decent road rendering. The GT5 wet look is absolutely out of this world. I'm just really underwhelmed with the dry look, it's as if they didn't bother enhancing it from GT4 and wanted to concentrate on rain.
