Guest damo1
when is it actually released? my guess is that it will be postponed like always
GazzaGSi
2nd November in US. This is the first official date given by Sony, all the others were just maybes/speculation so IMO I dont think it will be delayed. If it does I'll eat a christmas cracker crown

Smallshinyant
just watched the game trailers video, looks like most other recent next gen racers. is there no damage modeling or is it in another video?
pistonbroke
It has full damage modelling. The difference between this and the likes of Forza will be in the details. The amount of polish GT5 has in presentation and attention to detail sets it apart from its competitors.

I do hope its good for everyones sake, i could just imagine the outcry if the controls felt bad.
Wez
Was in a Sony shop today and watched a few PS3 games in 3D, apparently GT5 will also be 3D, all I can say is wow.
Bobbeh
Most other games are 720p also, GT5 is full HD... thats a big step up.
pistonbroke
Most other games are 720p also, GT5 is full HD... thats a big step up. Resolution wise it is, but running GT5 side by side, one at 720p and the other at 1080p, they're actually better in 720p. In 720p, the game runs 4x msaa, which apparently actually improves the cars shadowing, in 1080p mode, the game (not the menus or the photomode) is actually running in 1280 by 1080 upscaled by the RSX to 1080p (1980x1080). Though if you can play the game and actually see a difference between them, your eyes must be something special.
Bobbeh
Seriously, ask yourself if it looks no better, why do they even bother.
Scott
I notice a massive difference between 1080p and 720p on bluray movies. I have a 50" TV which, as I understand it, is where the 1080p really comes into its own. I can't comment on games though as I would need to see the same game performing in the different resolutions to comment. I always have a laugh at the 20" 1080p LCD TV's. A monitor yes, a tv though? lol.

Wez
If any of you get chance to wander by a Sony store pop in and see if they have the PS3 3D games demo, things like motostorm and wipeout in 3D, they look 200% better and add so much more to the game, I did today and was shocked how much better it was. jevansio
Those crashes suck donkey balls, hell if 2 years of polishing results in panel damage only that is pathetic I was expecting glass smashing, panels flying off, what a dissapointment, sorry

geordie82
after a visit to the pub this afternoon me and a few friends got chatting about this game and as a result we have all preordered even 2 friends that dont own a ps3 yet. i personally cant wait will bring back some good old memories, sitting in my bedroom at my mums house with a bottle of cider hidden under the duvet with a few friends over playing gt1 on the ps1 happy days( damn just googled realease date of gt1 i was only 15) i feel old now im just hoping its gonna be atleast half what its been hyped up to be otherwise there are gonna be alot of disapoined people out there. as for the release date, am i the only person who thinks that maybe just maybe they have delayed it so that they have time to get stock piled up very very very high for the christmas rush. i know if i was the top dog i would delay until nov/dec and make sure several warehouses were packed out for maximum imediate revenue
pistonbroke
Well, that video shows rollover, so its safe to asume its in the game. As for the 720p 1080p lark, yes 1080p is obviously better as its considerably higher resolution. What I was getting at is the game itself doesn't run at full 1080p, its upscaled.
