It has full damage modelling. The difference between this and the likes of Forza will be in the details. The amount of polish GT5 has in presentation and attention to detail sets it apart from its competitors.

Yeah i guess the one i watched was not very good quality. I do hope its good for everyones sake, i could just imagine the outcry if the controls felt bad.

Most other games are 720p also, GT5 is full HD... thats a big step up.

Resolution wise it is, but running GT5 side by side, one at 720p and the other at 1080p, they're actually better in 720p.

In 720p, the game runs 4x msaa, which apparently actually improves the cars shadowing, in 1080p mode, the game (not the menus or the photomode) is actually running in 1280 by 1080 upscaled by the RSX to 1080p (1980x1080).

Though if you can play the game and actually see a difference between them, your eyes must be something special.

I notice a massive difference between 1080p and 720p on bluray movies. I have a 50" TV which, as I understand it, is where the 1080p really comes into its own. I can't comment on games though as I would need to see the same game performing in the different resolutions to comment.

I always have a laugh at the 20" 1080p LCD TV's. A monitor yes, a tv though? lol.

If any of you get chance to wander by a Sony store pop in and see if they have the PS3 3D games demo, things like motostorm and wipeout in 3D, they look 200% better and add so much more to the game, I did today and was shocked how much better it was.

after a visit to the pub this afternoon me and a few friends got chatting about this game and as a result we have all preordered even 2 friends that dont own a ps3 yet.

i personally cant wait will bring back some good old memories, sitting in my bedroom at my mums house with a bottle of cider hidden under the duvet with a few friends over playing gt1 on the ps1 happy days( damn just googled realease date of gt1 i was only 15) i feel old now

im just hoping its gonna be atleast half what its been hyped up to be otherwise there are gonna be alot of disapoined people out there.

as for the release date, am i the only person who thinks that maybe just maybe they have delayed it so that they have time to get stock piled up very very very high for the christmas rush.

i know if i was the top dog i would delay until nov/dec and make sure several warehouses were packed out for maximum imediate revenue
