Blackie
This is not a "Well done Blackie" thread but more of a "Try these" one. I have wanted to stop smoking for a while now, I have been smoking for about 16 years. I tried loads of things to give up and failed. A few people at work told me about these pills you can get from the doctor called Champix that work really well, Its a month long course. I got some and started right away. At the start of the course i felt really dodgy, Sleepy in the day, a little bit snappy and having some really real nightmares but these side affects all stopped after a few days and the way i saw it even if i had them for a month it would be worth it to stop smoking. So i have been on them for two weeks now and stopped smoking after the first week, I was sure they were going to work but not 100%, It was odd the way they worked but i just suddenly stopped wanting to smoke. You have to pick a day to stop between day 8 and 14 of the introduction pack, I picked day 13 but started to stop wanting them on day 10. I tried to "Have a final one" a couple of Sundays ago but stubbed it out after 3 puffs as it tasted like dog poo (Prob) and not smoked since I can be around people smoking and not actually want one, I still go and see my smoker mates out in the sun at breaktimes and it doesent bother me and i dont want to smoke. They really are "A miracle cure" But check the side affects before you take them as there are potentally ALOT. I dont notice a massive difference in my health yet but i am saving £70 a week now i would of spent on smokes. For more info on the Champix google them, It will explain it better than i can

edge
Can they be brought off the net? any reputable sellers? I asked my doctor about these and they said no. They are bunch of f%&k wits though.
Supranature
GP's will NOT prescribe Champix to anyone who has had treatment foe depression or ANY previous indication of mental instability.( How did Blackie get them) I'm not suggesting for a minute this applies to you (edge), but they do cost a lot of money and docs are not prepared to script them willy-nilly. My doc insists you go to "fag-ends" before even considering Champix. If you can get them on the net, then they are fakes. You really wouldn't want to be taking fake ones. would you? AndyT
Well I'll be first to say well done matey. Why wouldn't a Dr want a client to stop? Sounds you need to get a second opinion Edge. There was a recent news article about these pills. Something major went awry.

marc_p
I know a couple of mates that have stopped by using these, I've said to myself that if I haven't quit by the time I come back off holiday at the end of september then I will get some of these.
